Michael Sipes

Mechanical engineer. Manufacturing project manager. Moving back to North Jersey.

I'm looking to buy one established business in North Jersey and run it myself for the long haul. I'm not a broker or a fund, and I'm not looking to flip anything.

About me

I have a B.S. in mechanical engineering and have spent my career in manufacturing. Today I manage controls projects for a boiler and burner controls manufacturer, working daily with the panel shop, machining, assembly and customers. I've run projects up to $2M and managed a $20M+ portfolio.

Before that, I was a project manager and cost estimator at Deringer-Ney, quoting precision machined and stamped parts, with firsthand ITAR experience. I hire and train the project managers on my team.

My wife and I are moving back to North Jersey to be near family.

What I'm looking for

  • Manufacturing, distribution or B2B services
  • Roughly $2–6M in sales and 8 to 40 people
  • Northern and central NJ, plus nearby NY and PA
  • An owner thinking about retirement or a next chapter, now or in a few years

What stays the same

  • Your people keep their jobs.
  • The name stays on the building.
  • Customers keep dealing with the same team.
  • You're welcome to stay involved.

Every conversation is confidential.

How it usually works

  1. 1A phone call or coffee.
  2. 2A visit to the shop.
  3. 3A look at the numbers under an NDA.
  4. 4A written offer, financed through an SBA lender I already work with.
  5. 5A smooth handoff on your timeline.
